About the Role

We are looking for a Social Media Intern to join us for a 3-month remote internship (renewable). This is a flexible, low-workload opportunity ideal for students or aspiring marketers who want to gain hands-on experience in content creation, social media strategy, and community building.

You’ll collaborate directly with the founders to grow Mandarin Zest’s presence on Instagram and LinkedIn, while engaging with our community of language learners.

What You’ll Do

• Create and schedule engaging content for Instagram and LinkedIn
• Edit simple videos (Reels, short clips)
• Brainstorm and develop creative content ideas tailored to language learners
• Manage and engage with our Discord community (replying to messages, sparking discussions, supporting members)
• Monitor content performance and suggest improvements
• Contribute to discussions on content strategy and brand positioning

Workload & Structure

• Duration: 3 months (renewable)
• Remote and flexible
• Expected output: ~2–4 posts per week + light community management

Who We’re Looking For

• Passionate about social media, content creation, and/or language learning
• Ideally a student or recent graduate looking to build a portfolio
• Familiar with Instagram and LinkedIn content formats and trends
• Basic video editing skills
• Comfortable engaging with online communities (Discord experience is a plus)
• Creative, proactive, and able to work independently
• Interest in Chinese language or culture

Compensation

We are looking for an SEO & Content Writing Intern to join us for a 3-month remote internship (renewable). This is a flexible, low-workload opportunity ideal for students or aspiring writers and marketers who want to gain hands-on experience in SEO, content creation, and early-stage brand growth.

You’ll collaborate directly with the founders to create high-quality content and improve Mandarin Zest’s visibility on search engines.

What You’ll Do

• Write SEO-optimized articles related to Chinese language learning (guides, explainers, resources, etc.)
• Conduct keyword research and identify content opportunities
• Optimize existing content for search engines (on-page SEO)
• Structure articles for readability and user intent
• Contribute content ideas aligned with SEO and growth strategy
• Support internal linking and basic content organization

Workload & Structure

• Duration: 3 months (renewable)
• Remote and flexible
• Expected output: ~2-3 articles per month (depending on length and depth)

Who We’re Looking For

• Passionate about writing, SEO, and/or language learning
• Ideally a student or recent graduate looking to build a portfolio
• Strong writing skills in English (native or near-native level)
• Basic understanding of SEO principles (keyword research, search intent, etc.)
• Detail-oriented and able to write clear, structured content
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Interest in Chinese language or culture
